I heard the instruction so clearly as I took in what I was seeing. I awoke one morning several weeks ago and I saw a vision of a three headed creature perched in the heavens overlooking the United States. As I saw this creature, I began to hear the words: confusion, rebellion and perversion. The creature, a demonic principality, represented these three things.
The Lord began to show me that each head was adorned with a crown representing their identity. God began to speak to me about misdirected battle and warfare. Ephesians 6:12 came to my mind and I heard the Lord say, “You are not fighting man, but the spirits in operation”.
I then heard God say, “Dismantle the cord of discord“, as this three headed creature had become a threefold cord, but one of counterfeit. The Lord then gave me three actions to combat this counterfeit threefold cord, launching an assault against each antagonist; unity would defeat confusion, prayer would defeat rebellion and holiness would defeat perversion.
Following this vision, I had tried to get out of bed, only making it a few steps before heaviness came upon me and I ended up folded over in the floor, groaning in the Spirit. When I got up, a different prayer language arose out of me, unlike my normal prayer language and weeping overtook me.
Later in the day, I again saw a vision of this three headed demon and I heard it saying, “We are a threefold cord and we have been endorsed and empowered by the church”. I then saw a sword and attached at the bottom of the sword was a threefold cord of unity, prayer and holiness. I began to see the sword move and as it did, it cut the legs out from under the perch where the demon sat, causing it to become unsteady and to topple over. I pondered on these things and I wept as I thought of what we have permitted.
We battle not against flesh and blood
It doesn’t take a prophetic person to see that many things are off course right now and it can be tempting to become weary over this present darkness, but God! We have been given offensive tools and strategies to combat Satan’s kingdom. We do not wage war according to the flesh.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 tells us that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God for pulling down strongholds, casting down imaginations and every lofty thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. Paul goes on to say in verse 6, “and being in readiness to avenge all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” As a child of God and a bride of Christ, we are called to a higher standard resting upon obedience unto the Father and a love so devoted that the thought of grieving the One whom our soul loves is heartbreaking.
This word is not to condemn but to equip. I say this with much love and a longing for the ENTIRE body of Christ to wake up and to pursue her Beloved in Spirit and in truth. We are dealing with a counterfeit threefold cord of confusion, rebellion and perversion and sadly much of the body of Christ has endorsed this union and the saying has held true: as the church goes so goes the nation.
Confusion has taken up residence among the body and brought division. Rebellion against God’s truth is celebrated while reverence is criticized and fear of the Lord is diminished. Perversion eludes consecration. It is time for a heart check, a moment of truth. I heard someone say recently, “Truth is not a teaching. Truth is a Person“. Jesus has a fierce love for people, all the while beckoning us to deny ourselves, take up our crosses and to come after Him.
Dismantle with the Word of God
There are many warnings in Scripture from Paul about people turning from the faith and devoting themselves to doctrines of demons, people who will not endure sound teaching, but rather long with itching ears for their passions to be ignited rather than the truth. Paul told Timothy to preach the word…reprove, rebuke and exhort with complete patience and teaching. He said to avoid those who have the appearance of godliness but deny its power and he made it clear that all Scripture is breathed out by God.
Paul is not talking about the versions edited so as to not offend sinful nature, which exist in our culture. He is referencing the true Word of God and he was speaking to Timothy in large part about behavior within the church, not the world. He even tells the Galatian church that if anyone preaches a gospel contrary to the one originally preached to let that person be cursed.
Why focus so intently on Scripture? Because the sword I saw in the vision is the Word of God and it is necessary to topple the powers of darkness. The world needs to see the bride dressed in untarnished armor holding the sharpened sword that is the Word of God, ready to attack the darkness rather than people. We are not fighting flesh and blood, but the spirits in operation. A rusted sword, an altered Word of God, will not cut through deception. Armor stored away as a trophy collecting cobwebs is useless. God desires His bride to align with His Word in unity, prayer and holiness because when we do that, demonic thrones crumble and their lofty places are conquered.
A unified body dwelling in His Spirit and Truth begins to look more like God, the Author of clarity and not confusion. Rebellion is crushed under the weight of praying saints aligning with the Spirit. Holiness embraces the very nature of God, cleansing all who would surrender and leaving not even the slightest residue of perversion. The counterfeit cord, this principality, can be dethroned. You are needed, Church. Wake up. There is a clarion call, I heard it so clearly. We are to dismantle the cord of discord.
