A Word For The Church: You Are Holy Transformers!

As I browse my social media newsfeed, I find myself preaching out loud and wondering if anyone can hear me. I am passionate about seeing people fulfill the purpose for which God has placed upon their lives. So if you are reading this, understand that what I say may challenge you and even offend you, but my desire is for you to live in the fullness of Christ. This may only be read by a few individuals and if so, then that is enough because my writing is more about Him and less about me being well known.

My preach came on last night as I scrolled through different posts…reports of men dressing as clowns and terrorizing children, thoughts on new horror movies coming out that people clamor to watch and various other supernatural things that are not of God.

The comments are even more disturbing with people entertaining this spirit of fear, standing powerless, helpless and even conforming to the environment around them by welcoming the darkness into their lives. This is coming not only from those who live as though they are of this world, but it is coming from those who profess to be Blood bought children of God.

You were made to transform, not conform

Let me encourage you today, church. We are called to be transformers, not conformers. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect”. I like what the New Living Translation says on the matter, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think”.

We as the bride of Christ are called to a higher standard, a holy standard. We are mandated to bring the Kingdom of heaven to earth because Christ dwells in us. How can we do that when we continue to fill our spirits with the antithesis of holiness? We are a culture that thrives on a thrill or the power of the supernatural, no matter the origin and this is dangerous. We are conforming rather than testing and discerning the source when we are instructed in the Word to do so.

I hear believers quite often express their fear of people doing harm to their children and to them and that threat is real, but my question is, where is the power and the authority to pray and to discern and to walk in the fullness of Christ? We have been given tools by the power of the Holy Spirit to cast out devils, to lay hands on the sick and see them recover and to raise the dead.

The religious spirit has done a tremendous job in stripping the power that Christ operated in while on the earth from coheirs in Christ by twisting Scripture and saying that Jesus will say He does not know those who practice such lawlessness. What this spirit fails to acknowledge is that this references false prophets. It is possible to do all of these things referenced in Luke 10:19 and Mark 16:15-18, just to name a few, so that Christ may be glorified and darkness defeated while truly knowing Abba, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus stated that greater works would be done by His disciples because He was going to the Father (John 14:12). His going equated to multiplication among the body as the Holy Spirit came to dwell among those who know Him. That is what it means to do greater works.

It’s time to choose His higher standard!

These are difficult things to say, but they are truth. We are aiding and abetting the darkness to operate in our lives and those around us by manipulation through the spirit of fear while dismissing the call to the reverential fear of the Lord. The world does not want what the church should manifest because we sit next to them in movie theaters, paying money to have the same devils “entertain” us with fear and a counterfeit of supernatural power.

We conform to the atmosphere around us instead of bringing transformation. We bow our knee to those who can kill our bodies instead of bowing our knee to the Lord. We ask where God is in the midst of evil and tragedy, begging Him to do something when He is waiting for us to take up the standard that His Son demonstrated and to pillage hell instead of people.

There are some who know God and are doing great exploits and they are demonstrating the power of God everywhere they go. There are transformers going into places and refusing to conform to the religious climate and they are blazing a trail for others to follow. God does not ask some to transform, He commands all of us to transform. He dares to instruct us to discern and to test the things around us and to determine if what we are participating in is His perfect will or if we are charting into unholy waters.

If I still have your attention and you have not hit the close button out of offense, be a transformer and refuse to conform to this world. If you are a disciple of Jesus Christ, then you have Holy power freely given to you to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers and cast out devils (Matthew 10:8). Relentlessly demonstrate the supernatural power of God to the world and put the devil out of business.

Stop operating out of fear of your surroundings and start obeying Jesus’ instructions, bringing reverence back to His Holy Name. Spend time with the Lord and refuse to pollute yourself with the things of this world or a supernatural counterfeit. Stop believing that you have no power and no authority. You are on loan from heaven and you are here to turn the world upside down.  You cannot turn the world upside down conforming to the ways of the world. Rise up, church and be holy transformers!
