I Heard The Lord Say, “Declare My Sun Hi Over North Korea”

It was on a calm May morning that the Lord spoke this word to me. I was sitting on my front porch, seeking the Lord in prayer, and I heard an unfamiliar word. It was the first time I ever heard a word from the Lord in another language known to man, but not known to me.  I heard the word, “sun hi” swell up in my spirit. It was one of those moments where you wonder, “Am I making this up, or is this the Holy Spirit?” To my amazement, I found out that this was a Korean word meaning, “goodness and joy”. The Lord instructed me to release this word in my prayer time over the nation of North Korea.

Shortly after hearing this word, the Holy Spirit showed me a vision of Kim Jong Un with strings attached to his limbs like a puppet. I began to understand that this man was being puppeteered and manipulated by the powers of darkness. I sensed the urge to speak to those strings and to curse their attachments. My heart has been heavy at times for this nation and for their leader. I have found myself in times of deep intercession and weeping before the Lord, declaring the sun hi of the Lord over every person in North Korea.

I have cried out for revival in this nation and for radical encounters in His Presence over Kim, not fully understanding why God was burdening me with this. It was not until a few nights ago that I understood the burden. God was not desiring for revival to visit them, but to revisit them. There is a much deeper reason that the devil is trying to dominate this nation with his darkness and destruction.

The enemy’s fear of revival rebirthed

It may shock you to know that this year marks one hundred ten years since the Pyongyang revival of 1907. It was a great move of God on the Korean peninsula, manifesting in repentance, evangelism, and the gift of the Holy Spirit. Pyongyang is the capital of North Korea, and its name inadvertently holds a prophetic meaning, “peaceful land”. This city became known as the “Jerusalem of the east” during the time of this revival. The revival lasted for forty years, spanning all levels of society, not excluding the political arena. It is said that Kim Jong Il’s grandparents were active in the Protestant church!

This revival came on the winds stirring from the Welsh revival and the awakening of India in 1905. The Korean people were relinquishing their sorrow and grief endured under the oppression of Japanese rule, and they were encountering the Holy Spirit. They confessed their sins to one another, and they surrendered to the Lord for inward change to manifest outwardly. The sun hi of the Lord was unleashed upon them during this time, and the church grew exponentially in this nation.

As I read about this revival and what happened in this nation now divided, I understand why the enemy fights to maintain control. He fears what once was in this land. There is an open heaven for the glory of the Lord to manifest in this nation. Pyongyang was staked and claimed for the Kingdom of God. Kim Jong Un bears the trace of another Bloodline in his family, and now that we recognize it, we have an open invitation to claim him for the Kingdom of God and to declare the salvation of the Lord upon his household. Though darkness looms in this nation, revival cannot be denied from its history. Too much has happened to give it to the devil. Where are the intercessors in this hour? Why are we chanting the rhetoric of the world instead of the prayers authored by the Holy Spirit?

Provoked to pray

I want to provoke the intercessors and prayer warriors in this hour to pray for this nation and for the current situation. We have a great privilege and opportunity in this moment to pray fervently for a nation to be reunited as one. I believe when we pray for others to be made whole, we will catch the vision for our nation to be made whole by the power of God. We need to repent on behalf of our nation for assisting in the dividing of Korea decades ago, permitting the enemy to cast his shadow in the north while attempting to overshadow God’s footprint upon “the peaceful land”.

I invite you to join me in declaring the sun hi of the Lord over the entire Korean nation, including Kim Jong Un. Bombard the heavenlies with declarations over North Korea that the agenda of satan will not prevail and that the land is ripe for revival. Push back the darkness with the Light of Christ! Resist the fear of nuclear war by commissioning angels to war on behalf of the prophetic words and prayers released in alignment with the Word of God.

We have the authority to bind and to loose in prayer by the authority of Jesus Christ. God made a way more than a century ago for His Presence to manifest among the people of Korea. It began with a prayer meeting. May it be rekindled in the same manner.

  1. Dear Lovesicksctibe,
As I was reading your article and your heart of intercession for Korea the Holy Spirit brought to my rememberance a God orchestrated prayer and worship gathering back in 1999 in Ephesus that was coordinated by Peter Wagner, coordinator of the World Prayer Center in Colorado Springs. The Lord instructed him to go back to the root of idolatry in the Church and repent of it and uproot it. The Lord had shown him that the collesium of Ephesus was where that spirit of idolatry was set up, referring to Acts 19:34 when they worshipped the goddess Diana for 2 hrs. This world wide corporate gathering after a year of world wide corporate intercessory prayer gathered in the collesium and 5000 worshippers and intercessors worshipped and lifted the Name of JESUS for 4 hrs. During this worship events a 100 piece Korean choir lead us in worship. Reading your article the Lord showed me THAT was their seed and voice of that nation’s heart of redemption that He had brought together with all the other nations that He would use to bring forth His divine will, healing and redemption of that nation, pulling down that spirit of idolatry.
I am sending you this link to a blog post the Lord had me make of that pivotal and impacting event of the Church. I pray the Lord uses it to encourage you in this prayer assignment that He’s given you.
God bless you BIG! You are a rich treasure to the Body of Christ with your writings.

  2. One of my favorite lines from the Narnia films is when the beaver says “Aslan is on the move!” Likewise, our Great Intercessor, Jeshua, is also on the move these days and my spirit soars to new heights every time I read another account of His moving among us!! So grateful to be among this tribe of peculiar people called intercessors and thank YOU for posting this. I join your assignment and declare “Sun Hi Over North Korea!!”

  3. Yes, and Amen! I too was urged by the Holy Spirit months ago to research Kim Jung Un. My digging led to what you found as well – this man’s heritage is beautiful and has been hijacked by the enemy. I too have been interceding along these same lines. I am thankful for God’s grace and pray the blood of Jesus be loosed upon Kim and North Korea to be reunited with their Heavenly Father through Jesus and their earthly and heavenly brothers and sisters.

  4. Hi LSS!

This is a really encouraging post. Thank you for writing it. : )

I have been praying for NK since I found out what was going on there in 2012! As someone who has studied the Holocaust at length it amazed me to find that while the world said “Never again!” after WWII that it is indeed happening again, and for a long time now, in NK. Such grief came over me when I found out, and sadness that the info hadn’t passed across my radar sooner (but God is good with His timing of things).

God is moving in NK and I do believe that we are seeing breakthrough in NK soon and that we WILL SEE a unified Korea again! The Jerusalem of the East will be united again and the word of God will go out of that country again to spread the gospel! PRAISE GOD! : )

  5. PROPHECY ALERT, I believe here is conformation that God is going going to move once again upon NK as the ravenous bird of the east is the Goshawk Hawk, national bird of NK:
    Isaiah 46:1-13 KJVS
Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth, their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: your carriages were heavy loaden; they are a burden to the weary beast . [2] They stoop, they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but themselves are gone into captivity. [3] Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb: [4] And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you : I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you . [5] To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like? [6] They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship. [7] They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble. [8] Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors. [9] Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, [10] Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: [11] Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it , I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it , I will also do it. [12] Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness: [13] I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.

  6. It is so encouraging to hear of God’s intent for North Korea, rather than the news we hear on tv and radio every day. I’ll go with God every time!
Thank you for sharing what the Lord has given you. I join with you in praying for N Korea.
